IT provider Plaut has designed and built the Systems, Applications, and Products (SAP) software Manufacturing Intelligence Integration system for Coca-Cola Amatil’s (CCA’s) pre-form and closure manufacturing plant in Eastern Creek.
The Eastern Creek plant’s resin moulds (pre-forms) are used to supply the beverage company’s new polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle automated-manufacturing facilities in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
CCA announced its investment in the Eastern Creek facility in June 2011. The $57 million facility will produce 2.8 billion pre-forms and closures for CCA’s $450 million PET bottle self-manufacture project, which is being rolled out across the CCA Group in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.
Plaut chief executive officer Mark Alder said: “Plaut’s solution has to work with 23 interfaces, linking CCA’s equipment suppliers and systems to SAP.”
Coca-Cola Amatil’s manager of major projects, Michael Shirbin said: “The Plaut team are specialists in integration ustilising MII [the Manufacturing Intelligence Integration system] and SAP, and [they] leverage this knowledge to provide solutions for all manner of applications.”
