Information technology (IT) and communications solutions outfit Fujitsu has won a three-year contract to supply ICT services for the Department of Defence.

The contract, called Distributed Computing Central Services (DCCS) contract, stipulates Fujitsu will provide multiple ICT services including the Defence Central ICT Service Helpdesk.

The initial term of the contract will be for three years (with extension options up to 20 years) and reportedly aligns with the whole of government co-ordinated procurement policy.

The agreement will see Fujitsu providing support to Defence’s 90,000 desktops located around Australia. Fujitsu will also work closely with Defence to support Defence’s Strategic Reform agenda for ICT.

“Defence selected Fujitsu for the management of the DCCS contract due to our strong Defence relationship and our past successes working together on secure government ICT projects,” said Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand chief executive officer, Rod Vawdrey.

“The Department was impressed with the high levels of professionalism and innovative ICT services that Fujitsu delivers to the large number of Defence staff, and importantly, Fujitsu has committed to working with Defence to deliver strategic reform objectives in support of their ICT reform agenda.”
